I am a potter living on the beautiful Kapiti Coast. My love for pottery began about 20 years ago with a few lessons and an old kick wheel that the previous house owners had left behind., however it wasn't the right time for me to dive into the world of clay as we had 3 very small children to bring up. About 4 years ago though I felt a huge urge to get back into it, and well here I am! I live and breathe pottery, it is absolutely my passion, so much so that I'm also studying it at Otago School of Arts. My style of work is simple, humble and understated. I love the Wabi Sabi philosophy of perfect imperfection. I especially like using clays with texture and character and then pairing them with simplistic glazes. I feel the balance of the two together create a beautiful natural vibe. I am also on a journey exploring my Māori whakapapa and I hope to show this through my work in the future.
